Eel Sedation Key

Sedation

Animals have a slight loss of equilibrium and although they are aware, no real attempt is made to avoid obstacles.

Handleable

In the initial phase animals have lost equilibrium but retain some swimming motion. On handling, no struggling is apparent, although animals will display some awareness if removed from the water. In the later phase animals have lost equilibrium and swimming motions have ceased.

Deep Anaesthesia

Gill ventilation is erratic or absent and there is an absence of the cough reflex.
